What is Brand Visibility Score?

A brand visibility score is a single 0–100 index that summarizes how present your brand is across AI answers for your category, blending mention frequency, position and share of voice.

Raw metrics — visibility, share of voice, citation rate — are precise but hard to track at a glance. A brand visibility score rolls them into one number you can report to a team and watch move week over week, the way a domain authority score summarizes many SEO signals.

The score is only as honest as its inputs: a credible one is computed from a fixed, disclosed set of buyer-intent prompts run against live AI engines, not a black box. Used that way it is a useful north-star metric for an AEO programme.

The point of a single score is accountability: it lets you set a target, assign ownership, and tell whether the content and authority work you are doing is actually making the AI name you more often.

Frequently asked questions

What goes into a brand visibility score?

Typically mention frequency across category prompts, the prominence or position of those mentions, and share of voice versus competitors — combined into a 0–100 index.

Is a visibility score standardized across tools?

No. Each tool defines its own, so compare trends within one tool rather than absolute numbers between tools, and prefer tools that disclose their prompt set and method.
